Is it too hot for candles?
The recent heatwave in the U.K. can be overwhelming, especially since air conditioning, ceiling fans, and shutters are not commonly found in our homes here in the U.K. However, our desire for a pleasant-smelling environment never wanes, and we have some tips to keep your space feeling fresh.
Keep in mind that candles can behave differently in extremely hot weather. Make sure to avoid direct sunlight when candles are not in use. If you do use them in direct sunlight, take extra care to trim the wicks, as the additional heat can cause the wax to melt more quickly.
Consider our vine tomato kitchen shot candle from our hand-crafted collection. This scent captures the tangy aroma of fresh, ripening vine tomatoes. It’s a delightful addition to our range and brings back memories of my childhood, reminiscent of opening my grandfather’s greenhouse on a warm summer day in Yorkshire. This fragrance offers a leafy, woody, and aromatic essence with plump red fruits on twisting tomato vines and enticing moss undertones.
Alternatively, you can try our Limoncello scented candle for a vibrant, citrusy experience. This fragrance embodies the invigorating and zesty scent of freshly squeezed lemons that we all adore. Made from the finest Italian lemon peel, Limoncello liqueur provides a silky, smooth, and delightfully sweet taste. We’ve carefully crafted this kitchen candle to capture its refined bouquet.
Lastly, our No. 03 Restore + Rebalance candle is a harmonious blend designed to calm the mind, body, and soul. This captivating scent aims to help you restore and find balance. It’s perfect for a lazy summer evening, creating a serene atmosphere as you watch a breathtaking sunset fade away. With hints of eucalyptus known for reducing stress, subtle earthy tones for stimulating the mind and body, and the addition of clove bud to combat fatigue, this fragrance offers a rejuvenating experience. Notes of bergamot rind enhance positivity and rejuvenation. Allow this unconventional fragrance to awaken your senses when you light it.
During the heat, it’s important to take care of yourself. Keep your sunny windows closed, draw your curtains and blinds, and once the sun’s heat subsides, open your windows, fully unveil your curtains or blinds, and light one of our candles. Let the coolness of the summer evenings wash over you.
Take care in the heat, everyone. I know it can be stifling at times….
